A Late Victorian fireplace insert with tile sliders.The fireplace insert features highly detailed relief patterning all round the fire opening and hood and in the external framing of the tile panels.

The registered design number ( 249375 ) dates the first production of this insert to 1895 although the pattern would have been in production for years after that.

The area closest to the fire opening has deteriorated too much for restoration and has been replaced by plain cast iron.
