The decoration around this fireplace arch is inspired by Islamic designs and features images of the sun, moon and stars with interlacing incised framing lines. The three bars get progressively more decorative from the top down.

The top bar is plain, the central bar has a cartouche and the bottom bar is covered with acanthus leaf like relief.
