Moulded jambs and frieze, delicate roundels and a reeded edge to the shelf are typical of the early 19th century drawing room fireplace surrounds but were continued throughout the 19th and into the 20th century.

A late Georgian mantel with reeded frieze shelf edge and legs. It has finely turned roundels giving it a neo-classical feel.

A late Georgian mantel with roundels or bullseyes over mouldings at the top of the legs giving it a neo-classical feel. The jambs and frieze have cushion moulding with reeding outside. The shelf is moulded and the mantel sits on block feet.
